Player Review: Aaron Ramsey

Ramsey, can he be the bargain of 2013/14?

Ramsey, 22, is a Welsh men who plays as the classic box to box midfielder. Bought from Cardiff City for 4.8 million pounds, Aaron slowly but surely worked his way into the Arsenal starting eleven and begun to become a regular fixture in the side. In 2009/10, Ramsey was producing a direct goal or assist every 3 matches he was involved with. This was at the age of 18 and thus much was expected. In early 2010, a shocking Shawcross tackle caused a double fracture in the young Gunners right leg. It took a loan spell to Nottingham and Cardiff, plus the best part of three years for him to regain the ripping form he had pre-injury. After strong performances throughout the pre-season and now regular season, the reasons are mounting for Ramsey to be instated into many a fantasy side... He may just be the bargain of the 2013/14 Fantasy Football season!

One of the first reasons that Ramsey must be considered for fantasy investment is the fact that he is simply far and above the best value for an Arsenal mid. Priced at 5.5, and playing in a role which allows him to get forward, he provides a strong bench alternative if not a genuine week to week starter.

Given Arsenal's run in the next 7 games reads; TOTTENHAM, Sunderland, STOKE, Swansea, West Brom, NORWICH and Crystal Palace, I think investment is almost a necessity.

After netting a brace against Fenerbahce, to go with his singular effort in the first leg, Wenger singled him out for praise...

“He gets to the end of things now. I liked especially his second goal. It’s a good finish and a year ago he would not have taken that chance the way he took it here. He’s improving from week to week. That’s very positive for us because a year ago, many people were questioning Aaron Ramsey.” (Wenger)
Having assisted a goal at Fulham, Ramsey is starting to become a more attacking threat on a week to week basis. His passing in the final third has a success rate of 80.6%. Couple that with the fact that he is averaging 77 passes per game at 88.5% efficiency, Ramsey will be in the bonus points without a doubt this season.

Synopsis

Given he has goal scoring form, he's nailed on and comes at an excessively cheap price, plus Arsenal have an incredibly tantalizing run, investment looks a good idea. He now officially has the runs on the board and officially has the managers backing, so not there aren't many risks at all associated with a move for him!

*He came off with a slight groin strain in the Fenerbahce match. he is expected to be okay but just take note of this.
